Learn the techniques to create one-of-a-kind, kiln fired ceramic treasures. This class presents basic engineering skills and building methods. Learn to create pinch pots, coils, slabs, score & smooth, decorate & glaze. We use natural earthenware clay for our guided yet original, made-by-hand projects. Pottery will be kiln fired twice; first to bisque, then painted/glazed and fired once again to complete the process. Pieces will be ready to pick up after the final firing.

Expect to hand build projects in the first 3 classes, glaze during the fourth class, then return to pick up your finished pieces the following week.

Class fee includes all supplies; clay and glazes, use of tools and firing fees.

Handbuilding knowledge and technique mastery is a pre-requisite to wheel throwing. Students may advance to the wheel at the instructors discretion.
