HANDS ON POTTERY

$105.00

HANDS ON POTTERY
Youth, grades 5-9
4-5:30pm, $105

Take a break from the screens and explore working with natural stoneware clay! Hand building improves fine motor skills while fostering creativity and confidence, while the sensory experience is both engaged and calming. Intriguing projects are presented, ensuring that your child is engaged, makes thoughtful decisions, and completes lasting work they can be proud of.

The ancient techniques of pinch, coil and slab, have endless potential. Your hands and a few simple tools, allow you to create an unlimited variety of forms. Building skills such as shaping, attaching, carving, smoothing, surface design and glazing, grant you the freedom to develop your creative voice.

This workshop features two days of building, and a glaze day. Pottery will be kiln fired twice; first to bisque, then painted/glazed, and fired once again to complete the process. Pieces will be ready to pick up after the final firing.

Class fee includes supplies; clay and glazes, use of tools, and firing fees.
Max number of students 10, minimum 6.

Glaze days are most Summer Saturdays, between the hours of 10am and 3pm.
Instruction with potter Annie Lichter.
Class meets Wednesday & Thursday from 4-5:30pm, $105
